The Caravan Club The Andulucian Grand Discovery Tour Site 2

On Friday we left the lovely Bella Vista campsite and arrived at Rosaleda at Conil de Fronterra. The site is lovely, yet again. It is owned by a spanish family and is somehow modern but with acharming spanish quantnessabout it. The view from my caravan window is simply amazing
Yes thats the Atlantic sea in the distance. Whoever said that Spain isnt green..well they havent seen Spain! The facilities here are really second to none. Bella Vista is good as it had wet room but these showers are the best yet! Shower heads that are about ten inches in diameter with fast hot and I mean hot water, oooh so powerful. Better than my Aqualisa at home! So after we arrived we had a meal in the restaurant with Flamenco dancers. What a night
It all started off...sooo civilised

But then the stars of the show really came on. The flamenco dancers children. Great to see the tradition continuing and boy did they steal our hearts

It was all going far too well and they made the mistake of getting some of our group to dance!

Hmm I wonder why they are trying to train the youngsters up so fast?! Great sports though and good fun. The atmosphere was incredible. Other campers coming up to us and thanking us for letting them join in! One Swiss man was so impressed by our bizarre behaviour he came and found me the following day to ask if he could join the Caravan Club! There is simply no accounting for taste! I am certain it must have been near his medication time!
Yesterday was a day off. Some went out exploring into the lovely Conil de Fronterra. The nearby town and seaside resort
It was all a bit too much for some!

Yes those black dots in the sea are people surfing!

What a stunning coastline. So very pretty and rugged.Today is another free day but teres so much to see and do in this area. We are going to the point of Trafalgar ehich is only about 10k away where the famous battle was fought and then we think we have found a local fiesta....maybe not but we are going to explore and a civilised? Apperitif drink in the evening to swap notes before our hectic day tomorrow of a guided Tour of Cadiz..oh no with this lot. probably ending up in the bar for our evening meal....what am excuse? Anothet Tour out on Tuesday ;;....when do we get a rest\?!!! Great group though!  1st March=/white rabbits and have fun whatever you do today!

The Caravan Club Andulucian Grand Discovery Tour-what a start!

The Tour started officially on Monday with a lovely meal in the campsite restaurant, here at Bella Vista. It seems to be a very good group  with  many nutters having been on Tours with us before. Yesterday was supposed to be a free day but many people went into Gibraltar which is only a 25 minute drive away.
Today was our first trip out to Ronda and what  a superb day it was. The luxury coach arrived early and off we went. We met our english speaking guiode who was simply fantastic. He was actually born in Ronda and what he didnt know about the place wasnt worth knowing. We started with some amazing views of the campsite and then some more at Ronda created by an eathquake heaven only knows how many thousands of years ago
Sunrise over the wonderful Med from Bella Vista Campsite

This was one of the most unusual Bullrings that I have seen. They said that in the centre bit that this one is the largest. Unfortunatly its still used very much today.

The outside of the Bullring

The views were just spectacular

Yes that is water down there!

This town is sooo Spanish you just have to love it!
We then had free time to buy some luch, go shopping etc. The shopping was disappoiting girls..it was siesta time! We had one more suprise though.. we bumped into some friends from Marjal camping! It doesnt seem to matter where we go in Europe.. we bump into our mad fellow camping friends! It was great to see you both Jon and Carolyn.
Enough Spanish. We move on tomorrow, heading more and more into deepest Andulucia and I am low on Cadburys chocolate! Disaster!!! No. We are heading to Gibraltar for one last time to stock up at Morrisons. This life is great but theres only one thing thats essential as the caravan or car....chocolate! Cadburys!!! Oh and then theres Yorkshire Tea Bags...You can take the lass out of Yorkshire  but you cant take Yorkshire out of her! Have a good day whatever you are doing!

The Andulucian Discovery Grand Tour..we are nearly off!

Well we arrived at the lovely Bella Vista Campsite on the Costa Del Sol, near Gibraltar on Friday and one of our participants was already here! We befriended the people in thge motorhome next door to us who promptly informed us that it was Happ[y Hour at the bar!Oh no! We had driven 250 miles from Cabo de Gata and it was the tug from hell. You know the sort, gale force winds and driving rain over moutains so we just took our time and plodded here. All Ican remember is that the evening was good. We had agreed to take our neighbours on to Gibraltar the next day but ..err we didnt quite make it and had a day lying in the sun! If the campsite puts on Happy  Hours it would be rude not to have gone
The campsite really is lovely with direct access to the beach.
Although a hard drive the views were spectacular with snow capped mountains
The lovely pools with the Med in the background

The culprits that led us astray. Great to have met you Paul and Ann and we hope to see you again- safe and happy camping always!
The main Street in Gibraltar, yesterday. Raining. Yuk. Morrisons breakfast made up for it though! The queues going on and off the rock werent too bad for once. 30 mins max either way. After all the trouble and rumours about the problems with the Spanish not one person asked to see my passport! Due to the strength of the pound not many things were cheaper.Spirits, cigs and petrol were all good buys but everything else was ..ouch! Marks and Spencer was disappointing 40 pounds for a blouse?! I think not. BHS all the way! Its a mucky job but someone has to carry out market research for these Tours!
We have 4 rigs here already and another 2 expected today. Mad as hatters some of them so its going to be a great Tour. Some have been with us before which is.... To come with us once is unlucky but to come with us again is ?!!! Ok totally insane but its great to see them! One couple we actually met in Croatia when we were hosting the Riviera Touch Tour.  They were on a Tour with another Organisation! It really is a small old world.or is that birds of a feather flock together?!,
So Im finally getting excited. The people so far are great. Some of the trips out look amazing. Roll on tomorrow and let the fun begin!

A Great British Weekend at Marjal Costa Blanca

Well the Dutch have a Dutch Day..so lets go one better an entire weekend! What a mad idea! We rose to the challenge and the true good old Brit spirit did not let us down and in the face of adversity from the weather most people just "mucked in" and got on with it to make the weekend a success. The volunteer campers in their flourescent green jackets were simply and amazing little army and really a force to be reckoned with!
Ok so we kicked off on Friday night with our lovely duo Chris and Pete who as usual did an excellent job singing good old British songs and stupid but fun British games. A couple of our green jacket army also did Irish Bingo which was also great fun and raised 117 euros for charity. Well done! The charrities being Elche Childrens Home and the Camping and Caravans Charity Diabetes UK. Pam and Hazel worked hard to get this money for them. Well done girls. Some people went to extremes and costumes etc were amazing

The Great British Choir in fine voice

How did that Yorkshire flag get in there?!

It was a good job that so many were dancing as there literally was standing room only! Chicken and chips were served in the bar by Marjal for 6 euros wow! Half a blooming chicken! They really excelled. What a great start to the weekend. Market day on saturday. What could possible go wrong?!!

Yep it wasnt just raining it was blowing a blooming gale! I know we had spent a lot of time planning but to order the British weather was going a bit too far! Call it off? Never! Muck in>! Too damned right and what a day! From that to...

Yep eventually the sun did come out but the strong wind remained. The Traders there were lovely people and were amazed at what lovely friendly helpful people we  are! I think we all spent money but oohh some of the stalls had lovely things on. If we can do this in such conditions what can we do if we had normal spanish weather?! Some of the helpers were literally wet through to their skin! Thank you all! Red Strokes and Dave E Moss aour entertainers were moved into the bar and that remained full throughout the day!

Marjal had even put on excellent fish and chips and a great British Menu for the occassion! Time for a quick scrub up to see the Beetles! Well not quite..the nearest thing The Liverpool Band and they did not disappoint!

172 tickets sold in 32 minutes..I can see why! Marjal staff were truly excellent

I had a lovely suprise and was presented with a lovely bouquet if thats how you spell it!

Dead on my feet but no cooking on Sunday..a full carvery in the restaurant for sunday lunch and wow what a meal that turned out to be. Just what the Doctor ordered. Beef?! Wow The best that I have ever had! Pete played piano in the background and the atmosphere was one of calm and tranquility after such a hectic weekend. The lovely thing was that EVERYONE joined in. Loads of other Nationalities. I was quite proud to be part of thise crazy race/ brand that we call British! Well done and thank you  everyone!
