Spanish motorhome rental

A friend of mine who has been in the camping business for years has come up with a fan exciting new idea that I have been helping him with. Its so simple I can see it being a winner. As we are sited about half an hours drive from Alicante airport he is in the ideal location to rent out motorhomes for holidays. He has lots of motorhomes available for hire but he shocked me when the first one he brought down is a gorgeous American R.V!
You should see the inside of it cream leather! Its fab. The idea is standard motorhomes for rental but he got a bit carried away! Its a great way of having a cheap luxurious holiday, saving on that long journey through France or the long Spanish crossing just get a bud
get flight into Alicante and be collected and taken to your motorhome and go where you please (within reason!)
He's started a web page WWW.spanishmotorhomerentals.com that should be finished tonight. I really think that he should let me be the test pilot on this R.V but it may take at least a month!www.spanishmotorhomerentals.com

OK so we are still at Marjal Eco Resort. The weather is amazing about 33 degrees. We have difficulty sleeping at night as the temperature rarely goes below 26!
Our trusty friend the Ssang Yong Kora do went in for a major service today at Elche and passed with flying colours. The service was excellent although it did take some time to explain in my pigeon Spanish that I really had travelled 12000 miles in 5 months! He thought my calculations between mph and kph were wrong but they weren't! http://www.ssangyonggb.co.uk

Equipment

We are constantly asked what equipment, cars ,caravans we use. To be honest we have owned just about every 4x4 on the market at one time or another. We have owned every type of camper/folding caravans....etc etc. What makes are the best? There is no firm answer to this as I can only comment on what suits my type of camping best.
Our current caravan is the one that we have owned the longest. When we heard that Avondale were in financial trouble we dashed out and bought one. We have owned an Avondale before and they simply do what they say on the box. No fancy gadgets to go wrong. Well put together and very practical and serviceable. I have looked at new models by different manufacturers and I despair. They are not designed by people who caravan! Far too flimsy with far too many gadgets.
Cars. We travel approx 18000 miles a year with the caravan. We sold our last x trail as it had a very high mileage.
We have never owned or even considered a Korean car before. We had vaguely heard of the name Ssang Yong. We test drove the new Kor ando and were fairly impressed. When we were told that there was a five year unlimited mileage warranty on the v vehicle we went for it and wow! Up and down mountains, all different terrains and still it gave us 38 mpg with a caravan on the back! Koran do apparently means can do' and at the moment  we believe them! My next car will definitely be a ssang yong!

About us-Living the Dream. Life after retirement!

Dave and myself both had very demanding professional jobs. We travelled extensively but our main love was camping,. I had camped all my life and our children were brought up as it being a normal way of life. We always joked that when we retired we would go where the road and the Sunshine took us. That's finally how we are living with the exception of occasional work for the Caravan Club. We lead European tours and inspect sites overseas. I do intend to also create a page of my favourite campsites in Europe and details of tours. Thank you for visiting my blog and please return!
