We retired early from a professional job. We are living the dream in our caravan going where the road and the sunshine takes us. We work part time for the caravan club leading European tours and inspecting overseas sites. We have been to some amazing places and met some amazing people. We have camped in 30 Countries in the past twelve months-we are running out of Europe! Roll on the next 30 Countries!

OAP wandering just got better -camping in Spain
What a day! Living like we do people often ask if we miss our family. We are due to leave Marjal Costa Blanca on Monday. Our son flies out to us tomorrow for a weeks break with his new girlfriend and I am really looking forward to that. My daughter phoned me out of the blue this morning and announced that she was also coming to surprise us in Spain before we leave to lead the Caravan Clubs Transylvania Tour! She is bringing with her our three year old granddaughter. They stayed with us for five weeks in June so we see more of them than when we were living at home. We have flown round today like idiots but it will all be worth it. Its strange when you are at home you are 'just there' and there are phones ringing, computers,TVs blaring out. I know it sounds very cheesy but when my family fly out to me that is my holiday! My daughter and granddaughter leave us on Monday afternoon and then we hitch up-hopefully heading to Spa Natura at Peniscola if its not fully booked. A lovely little Spanish site but its the Spaniards holidays too a and they want to go there too! Grrr! The plan is then Barcelona, Vilanova Park and into France-let the wanderings begin! Excited or what?!

Caravan/rv/motorhome awning repairs in Spain-what next?
OK so whilst this site has been open at Marjal Costa Blanca I have been asked to do more and more sewing. After camping I guess its always been my second hobby. Last year I had my over locker machine shipped out from england but even that was struggling to cope with the things that I was being asked to repair, gazebos, awning zips, wheel covers etc etc and everything imaginable. Andy came up with a great idea. He had seen an industrial flatbad machine for sale privately and thought that we ought to buy it. We duly went to an address in Crevillente and there was this old but beautiful machine. We negotiated a price and bought it. We couldnt understand why it was so cheap until it came to getting it out of the house! It was stuck! The house was a typically Spanish one built on the side of a mountain long before the days of cars. Ideally we needed a van...but hang on a van would be too wide. We used my good old car. I had to take the electric wing mirrors in. Andy got out of the car and directed me down the roads? With about two inches to spare at either side! Thankfully the machine and the car are both in one piece...now watch this space!
Excited for the Caravan Club Transylvanian Tour!
OK so I'm now getting really excited as the time is getting nearer to this fantastic tour. We still don't leave Marjal Eco Resort for about two weeks but my caravan awning is nearly down. Its just so hot here at the moment about 30 degrees so I'm doing it bit by bit. The most important job was completed yesterday -I bought 1000s of Yorkshire tea bags! There are some things that a girl just can't live without! My chances of being able to buy them in some of the places that we are going to will be pretty slim I suspect! The caravan was fully serviced in my two week whirlwind stop in the UK and my poor old car was serviced here in Spain. That was funny trying to tell the Ssang Yong mechanic in pigeon english that my car was only a year old and that it really did need its second major service! He thought that I had got kilometres and miles mixed up! No my car will have done about 26000 miles in a year by the end of this tour! I bought thep thing to use! Only about 500 miles have actually been travelled in the Uk.,and the vast majority towing my caravan. I think I'm a pretty good advert for Ssang Yong who I had never heard of until I bought one!
Well I'm rambling. E mails are coming thick and fast from Sophie O Neil who is the lady in charge of organising the Tour. She visited Romania and Hungary last week to finalise details and it seems to be getting more exciting by the minute.
I have had a few phone calls from people going on the Tour with us who have minor queries. They all sounded like people with a great sense of adventure and most importantly a great sense of humour-my type! I think to be doing a tour like this we need to have a ile or two loose! Life is for the living and I can't wait to see the places that I have heard of but never been to.and I'm sure well meet some amazing people.

Spanish motorhome rental
A friend of mine who has been in the camping business for years has come up with a fan exciting new idea that I have been helping him with. Its so simple I can see it being a winner. As we are sited about half an hours drive from Alicante airport he is in the ideal location to rent out motorhomes for holidays. He has lots of motorhomes available for hire but he shocked me when the first one he brought down is a gorgeous American R.V!
You should see the inside of it cream leather! Its fab. The idea is standard motorhomes for rental but he got a bit carried away! Its a great way of having a cheap luxurious holiday, saving on that long journey through France or the long Spanish crossing just get a bud
get flight into Alicante and be collected and taken to your motorhome and go where you please (within reason!)
He's started a web page WWW.spanishmotorhomerentals.com that should be finished tonight. I really think that he should let me be the test pilot on this R.V but it may take at least a month!www.spanishmotorhomerentals.com
