This place was not what we expected. Maybe we had been spoilt by Prague. We went on a Coach and had a gipuided tour around Vienna. The City was large and spacious and had excellent public transport but the Austrians?! I'm sorry if they smiled I think they believed their faces would crack! Unlike the Czech people who were all warm and welcoming from the people who worked at the petrol stations to general people in the street. I simply could not say the same about Vienna. Maybe I had a cultured and romantic view of the place but I was certainly disappointed. We visited some mad eco house and saw were Strauss lived etc. The day after we visited Schonbrunn Palace which was err.... A rip off! Yes very pretty. 4 euros plus for a cup of coffee and not a lot else! Oh Marie Antoinette once lived there! Lol The campsite was pretty average but even the receptionists were unhelpful "please can you tell me where the nearest ATM is please/?" Answer "no!" I know she was being honest but "hello I'm a customer!" She has won hands down in the award for the most unhelpful receptionist EVER! I can't wait to get t o Hungary

Today we were blown away yet again! The bus picked us up at 9 am and we spent a very full day in Prague. The weather was glorious (sorry how English!) I was amazed that given the Czech Republics troubled history at how many beautiful old buildings there are. We went on a short boat trip again and the Czech people are just so friendly and welcoming. Fortunately everyone spoke English as their language just sounds like Russian! Driving is relitavely easy but headlamps must be kept on at all times. The money oh dear! All I can tell you is I spent thousands! Yes at the border I changed 30 euros and got 660 crowns back!Great fun. Bargain of the Tour must be a sheepskin rug for 16 euros! ( yes I found a Chinese shop selling goods at Czech prices!) Lol Totally loved Prague. The only thing wrong with it was bloody tourists!lol Austria and Vienna tomorrow. I maybe first unit away but how lucky are we?!

Can this Tour get any better? We had a lovely drive to the outskirts of Prague. Their roads are so much easier than Germany's although the first experience of buying a vignette was fun and their money! We arrived at a lovely site Praha Oase with its own indoor and outdoor pool. Looking forward to a Czech meal tonight and I will post piccies later! Great life!

Wow what a day yesterday. Camping Rudesheim am Rheien. We left the camp at 0845 and were met by the most amazing guide Robert. Not only was he fluent in english but totally understood our humour. We went on a gorgeous boat up the Rhine. We ate a lovely lunch and then sailed back to Rhudesheim arriving at 5p. Knackered!The sun was shining. The company was good and the food and scenery spectacular!

The entire group were up early yesterday morning as there was a bike race starting from the campsite. They made so much noise and were shutting roads so much so that our last unit was on the road by 0930! We had a nice gentle drive into Germany. I cannot believe that their roads are worse than the uk! I paid to go for a wee 70 cents at a service station and they werent even clean!lol. I will be using my friend le bush in future or the caravan! Anyhow the sat nav made an announcement that I have not heard her say before "in 0.3 miles board the ferry!" I dare not fall out with her so we crossed the Rhine by ferry which was lovely and took all of about five minutes. Cost 11 euros. The site Rudensheim am Rhein is loveky but the little town within walking distance really is a wow! A fab day and a boat trip on the Rhine today.
